How To Measure Your Instagram Goals

Happy October, it's time to measure the success of your September Goals! Here are some tips on how!

⭐ 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 ⭐

✨ Look at your follower account - How many followers did you gain? How many people can you potentially reach?

✨ Your post reach - How many people did you reach?

✨ Who's chatting about you? - Look at your mentions, #hashtaguse (make your brand hashtag!), who is tagging you and RTing you? How many people are talking about you and sharing your posts?

Insights and other third parties social media scheduling apps such as Later can tell you these analytics in more depth.

⭐ 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 ⭐

✨ From your Profile Website Link - How many visitors did you have come directly from your Instagram?

✨ How much too does it contribute to the overall traffic?

✨ What's the bounce rate four your Instagram traffic? - Look at the quality of the traffic. Is it high or low? Look at the landing page they're going on and where they went afterwards.

Best way to measure the above traffic is via Google Analytics, go set yours up if you haven't already and have a play around because that's the only way to learn Analytics. Keep your goals in mind because yall need them for Google Analytics!


✨ Clicks from an Instagram post- Instagram will detect if a user who viewed a post went straight to your website. Analyse the post image, caption, call to action, hashtags and website click users had with the post to measure the success.

⭐ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 ⭐

One of the most popular goals of Instagram, a lot of coaches, marketing companies people who are looking to gain email signups in return for something usually free.

This is seen as a long sales process as it's a way to warm up potential customers with email marketing and influence them on the path to eventually purchase from you.

Also known as a sales funnel. Using social media to gather the large reach and funnelling the customers down the sales funnel with them reaching your end goal.

⭐ 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 ⭐

✨ Collecting the info - How many leads did you gain from Instagram? How much personal information did you collect?

✨ Lead Landing Page - How many people visited your lead landing page from Instagram? What's the bounce rate and did you collect their personal information before they left?

✨ Lead Conversions - How many people from Instagram converted on your lead?

✨ Post clicks - How well did your Instagram posts do that were promoting your lead?

Again Google Analytics is amazing for this! Especially when you're looking at the conversion goal you set up beforehand. Check out Acquitistion > Social > Conversions within Google Analytics and ensure you select the conversion goal you're looking to measure.

⭐ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 ⭐

You can what's called organically promote your posts (non-ads)

or paid ads which are Facebook / Instagram ads

✨ Signup/ Revenue - How many sign-ups or how much revenue did your Instagram bring in?

✨ Revenue from ads - How much revenue did your Ads bring in?

Again you can use Google analytics Ecommerce Tracking (make sure to have Facebook Pixel integrated into your website) to measure this as well as use Facebook Ads report.
